Businessman found dead in Ctg

Police yesterday morning recovered the body of a businessman from the city’s Bepari Para area after 20 hours of his reported missing. 

Jalal Uddin Sultan, 47, son of late Sultan Ahmed of Gosaildanga area in the city, went missing at around 2pm on Saturday.  
Police recovered his body stuffed in a sack around 8 am, on a road around half a kilometre from the victim’s residence.
He went for lunch from his Agrabad office at noon on Saturday. After then his mobile phone was found switched off. The deceased was a local landlord and involved with different kinds of business in the city, said police. He might have been killed by unidentified miscreants by strangling, said police. AKM Mohiuddin Selim, officer-in-charge of Double Mooring Police said, “Jalal left his office located in the city’s Agrabad area on Saturday morning. Since then, he was missing and his cell phone was found switched off.” Being informed from locals, police recovered a body stuffed in a sack from Bepari Para area on Sunday morning. Later, the body was identified as Jalal by victim’s family members, said Mohiuddin.
He said miscreants have killed Jalal somewhere by strangulating and later dumped the body on the road after wrapping it in a sack. His legs and hands were tied with ropes. The body also bore several injury marks.  
Jalal had monetary transactions with some local people. We suspect, he might have been killed over the transactions,’ said OC Mohiuddin adding that the police are trying to ascertain the motive behind the murder and identifying the killers.
