BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia leaves Dhaka for Saudi Arabia today to perform holy Umrah.
She will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport onboard an Emirates Airlines flight in the evening. Several family members will accompany her during the tour.
Her elder son, Tarique Rahman who is currently staying in London, is expected to board the same flight from Dubai.
Shyrul Kabir Khan, an official of the BNP chairperson’s media wing, said Khaleda Zia is going to Saudi Arabia on an invitation of the Saudi king.
According to the itinerary, the BNP chairperson will visit the Rawja Mubarak of Prophet Mohammed (SM) and offer prayer at Masjid-e-Nababi in Medina.
After a three-day stay in Media, Khaleda will go to Mecca with her entourage to perform holy Umrah. She will pass the Shab-e-Qadr at Masjid al-Haram in Mecca.
The BNP chairperson is expected to return home on July 17 prior to the Eid-ul-Fitr.
