Rakib takes solo lead in nat’l chess

GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib of Bangladesh Navy took a solo lead in the OMICON 42nd National ‘A’ Chess Championship-2016. Rakib pushed his collection to seven points at the end of eighth round games at the NSC auditorium in the capital on Wednesday.  

 GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh Navy was in 2nd position with 6.5 points. GM Ziaur Rahman and FM Md. Taibur Rahman of Bangladesh Navy were in 3rd position with 5.5 points each. IM Abu Sufian Shakil of Golden Sporting Club with five points was in 4th position. 
In 8th round, GM Rakib beat FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club, GM Razib beat his teammate CM Ikramul Haq Siam. GM Zia beat his teammate FM Mohammad Javed, FM Taibur drew with his teammate FM Kh. Aminul Islam, Shakil drew with FM Sk. Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy.
