Chittagong Vikings opener Jahurul Islam believed the dismissal of Tamim Iqbal in the crucial juncture was key in throwing them away from the match.

This 19-run defeat against Dhaka Dynamites handed Chittagong the fourth loss on the trot since their victory in the first match.
“The match was lost after the dismissal of Tamim Iqbal. He was well set in the crease. I think that was the last over Dwayne Bravo was bowling and he wouldn’t comeback until the death overs. So they would have bowled with Saikat or Alauddin Babu. I thought the other batsmen would take risk and Tamim would try to play till the end. But he got out and that became the turning point of the match,” Omee said after the match.
Chittagong Vikings captain Tamim Iqbal also blamed himself for losing the match against Dhaka Dynamites as he thought he should carry the innings till the end.
The defeat left them in awkward position of having an early exit from the top four races.
Tamim, the most successful batsman of Bangladesh’s history, rued for the mistakes he did as he played a rash shot during the crucial juncture of the match.
“I am to be blamed for the loss,” said Tamim during the match presentation Jahurul Islam Omee also blamed their batsmen for their shocking loss, stating that it would be possible to win the match on this wicket if their batsmen like bowlers played responsibly against Dhaka Dynamites.
“We had problems in batting. I think chasing 149-run was possible to win on this wicket. Bowlers did well. Actually we could not use the initial six over of the powerplay properly. Along with that, we lost one wicket each during and after the powerplay,” said Jahurul Islam.
“We’ve played the match by less a batsman. So, chasing costs for us. We fielded two foreign pacers. For this we all should have batted responsibly and play calculative in the very beginning,” Omee told newsmen at post-match briefing.
On the other hand, Dhaka Dynamites pacer Mohammad Shahid said that they restricted to their opponent by showing better bowling performance.
“It was not enough score but we bowled really well and so it became enough score for defending. It was cheasable wicket where we played against Vikings,” said Mohammad Shahid, who scalped four wickets, which made easier for Dynamites to tame Chittagong Vikings at their turf.
