Aly Zaker to receive ‘BatTala Rangamela Award’

Veteran theatre personality Aly Zaker to receive this year’s ‘BatTala Rangamela Award 2016’. BatTala Rangamela, a much-acclaimed festival in the country, has usually been arranged biannually. For the last time, the weeklong festival was organised on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital in 2014. Noted thespian Ferdousi Majumdar was awarded in that year. 

DhakaLive has news that this year’s award will be handed over to Aly Zaker at a programme at Mahila Samity on December 10. The ten-day ‘BatTala Rangamela 2016’ will commence on December 1. 
This year, Indian troupe Notdha will bring their productions ‘Othoi’ and ‘Compass Theatre’ to the festival, while Kuchbihar will come up with its play ‘Chup Adalat Cholche’. Besides, Bangladesh’s popular troupes like Theatre, Nagorik Natyangan, Mohakal, Theatre Department of Jahangirnagar University, Prangonemore, Jessore Biborton and BatTala are going to participate. 
On the occasion of festival, the members of BatTala are running the promotions of the festival in social media, mostly in Facebook. They are uploading a video mentioning the schedule of the festival. In addition, productions-based different trailers are also being seen in the Facebook group of BatTala. l
