Three female students expelled from RU hall
The university administration has expelled three female students from Rahmatunnesa Hall of Rajshahi University (RU) over clashing among them. The decision was taken from a hall administration meeting on Monday night.
The expelled three female students’ are- Bangla Department third-year students Lucky and Sathi, and master’s student in Political Science Eti. Sources said, a dispute for seats was occurred between Lucky and her room partner Sathi on November 06, 2016 (Sunday). Later they engaged in a altercation. On the next day on November 7, Lucky’s friend Eti beat Sathi up in the guestroom. Later the matter was informed to the provost. Rahmatunnesa Hall Provost Professor Mili Jasmine said they were fighting due to conflicts among themselves. After listening that, a meeting of hall administration has decided to expel them.

Teacher ‘commits suicide’
A female college teacher reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Hakkani Housing Society of Joydebpur are in Sylhet city on Tuesday noon.
The deceased was identified as Afsana Akter, 35, wife of Mafiz Uddin, a resident of Shripur upazila. She was a lecturer of the Management Department at Quazi Azim Uddin College in the city. Afsana used to live in a rented apartment at a five-storey building in Hakkani Housing Society.

Workshop on safe drinking water ends
Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has pledged to ensure supply of safe, pure and hygienic drinking water for every citizen of Rangpur city.
“Construction of a number of water treatment plants, water supply pipe lines and other necessary infrastructures will be completed soon,” Jhantu said while addressing the concluding ceremony of a workshop in Rangpur on Tuesday afternoon as chief guest.
The RpCC with assistance of the Department of Public Health and Engineering (DPHE) organised the workshop titled ‘Planning for safe water’ at the conference room of the city corporation. With Acting Chief Executive Officer of RpCC Fazlul Kabir in the chair, its Superintending Engineer Emdad Hossain, Executive Engineer Azam Ali and Medical Officer Dr Kamruzzaman Ibne Taz, Executive Engineer of DPHE Yasin Arafat attended the workshop as special guests.

Indian ships leave Ctg 
Three ships of Indian Navy and Coast Guard -- INS Tir, INS Sujatha and ICGS Vharuna-- left Chittagong Dry Dock Jetty on Tuesday after a five-day goodwill visit.
Chief Staff Officer of Chittagong Naval area Captain Kamal Naser formally saw off the three ships at the Dry Dock Jetty here, a press release of ISPR said.
During the visit, captains and officials of the Indian ships called on Rear Admiral M Shahin Iqbal, Commander of Chittagong Naval area and other officials of Navy, Coast Guard and Chittagong Port Authority, it said.
They also visited Bangladesh Navy ships "Somudra Joy" and "Somudra Avijan", Bangladesh Naval Academy, School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics (SMWT) and BNS Shaheed Moazzem base.
