Security agencies� report on Parnell claim today

Bangladesh security agencies are investigating a threat on South Africa fast bowler Wayne Parnell from an anonymous phone call to his hotel room on Sunday.
“We are too serious about the matter and are regularly checking the updates. The security agencies said they would give us the details by Wednesday, said” BCB security consultant Major (retd) Hossain Imam.
“The caller told him he came here to do harmful things to Bangladesh and they would not spare him.”
“Soon after he reported the matter, we informed the intelligence agencies and they are looking into the matter. If the call was made through cell phone, it could have been just a matter of the time to identify the culprit but since it was made by land phone, the agencies need some times to sort it out,” Imam added.
Parnell, a converted Muslim was abused and threatened from an anonymous call just ahead of the first Twenty20 International against Bangladesh.
South Africa’s team manager Mohammed Moosajee, however, said they had thought it a prank call but was concerned that the hotel had allowed an anonymous caller to get through to Parnell.
 “But he (Parnell) was not scared at all. What made him concerned was how the anonymous phone calls being put through to his room.”
