Mushfiq first to hit 1,000 BPL runs

While Mushfiqur Rahim slammed the second ball off Shuvashis  Roy to sweeper cover region for a boundary and leveled the score against Chittagong Vikings on the way to his side Barisal Bulls’ seven-wicket victory, he became the first batsman in the BPL history to score 1,000 runs. He then hit one more boundary to ensure the victory and remained not out on 10. It was a double delight for the skipper who at the same time recorded two feats.
He started the match with 995 runs and poised to be the first batsman in the BPL history score 1,000 runs and he did so without wasting any time. He led the second highest run-getter Shakib Al Hasan in the tournament by 230 runs at the moment. Mushfiqur played 38 matches to score that 1005 runs with seven half-centuries while Shakib Al Hasan who played 37 matches so far was in the second position with 775 runs.
Anamul Haque Bijoy scored 762 runs in 40 matches while Brad Hogg was fourth in the list with 756 runs in 23 matches. Mahmudullah Riyad is in the fifth in the ladder with 743 in 41 matches. What was surprising that Tamim Iqbal wasn’t in the list of top five despite holding all of the batting records for Bangladesh.
