A three-day long Ijtema, an Islamic congregation in Sherpur Sadar upazila, ended on Saturday with the Akheri Munajat joined by thousand of Muslims from home and abroad. The devotees sought forgiveness and blessings from Allah for Muslims around the world and the entire mankind. Arranged by the district Tabligh Jamaat, the congregation began on the banks of the Migi River near East Sheri Ustim Tola in Sadar Upazila on Thursday, where several thousand devotees gathered. A large number of law enforcers were deployed in and around the Ijiema ground to avert any untoward situation, said executive magistrate Mehedul Hassan.
