Student stabbed dead

A madrasah student was hacked to death by a group of criminals over previous enmity at Chalitabunia village in Morelganj upazila on Saturday night, reports UNB from Bagerhat. The deceased was identified as Al-Amin Sheikh, 18, a student of Olamaganj NU Aleem Madrasah and son of Hossain Ali Sheikh, a resident of Chalitabunia village. Officer-in-charge of Morelganj Police Station M Rashedul Alam said Al-Amin was going to madrasah from his residence at night. A gang of criminals waylaid Al-Amin and hacked him indiscriminately in the village around 9pm, leaving him severely injured. Later, he was taken to Morelganj Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries. Quoting family members, the OC said Al-Amin’s family had been at loggerheads with their neighbour Abul Quazi.
