1000 fire motorcycles to be procured with Chinese assistance

China will provide 500 million RMB (approximately $73.29 million) as grant to Bangladesh for procuring 1000 fire motorcycles and necessary tools for the modernisation of Bangladesh's Fire Service and Civil Defence, reports UNB.
According to the economical and technical cooperation agreement signed between China and Bangladesh during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Bangladesh, the grant will be utilised for the project of Disaster Emergency Operation Centre and Information Platform.
Talking to UNB, an official at the Economic Relations Division (ERD) said China will provide 1000 'water mist fire motorcycles' fitted with modern technologies and necessary tools for the modernisation of Bangladesh's Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The official said those motorcycles would be ‘highly useful’ for fighting fire in crowded and traffic jam-prone Dhaka as they can move quickly through narrow land.
