The 3rd phase distribution of smart National Identity Card (NID) begins in the capital on November 20 and it will continue till January 28 next, reports UNB.
During the third phase, the Election Commission (EC) will distribute smart NID cards in 12 wards under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and three wards under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
The 12 DSCC wards are 1, 5, 6, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 34, 35, 36 and 37, while three DNCC wards are 18, 21 and 23, said Assistant Director (PR) of EC Secretariat Ashadul Haque yesterday.
The card will be distributed from 9am to 5pm every day in this phase. As the commission fixed a specific date (between November 11 and January 28) for every locality under the wards, the people of the locality can collect the smart NID cards attending the designated place during the stipulated time.
Voters can know about the date and place of their smart card distribution through mobile SMS. One needs to text— scnid17-digit national ID> -- to 105 to know about his or her date and place. The voters having the 13-digit NID requires to add the year of birth and those who did not get laminated NID card need to text scf serial number of voter registration slipd yyyy-mm-dd to 105.
In DNCC, the smart card will be distributed at Kalachandpur Higher Secondary School (Gulshan) for ward No-18, Badda Alatunnesa High School (Madhya Badda) for ward No-21 and ward councillor office (Khilgaon) for ward No-23.
In DSCC, the card will be provided at Khilgaon Government High School for ward No-1, Kamalapur School and College for ward No-5, Mugdapara Kazi Jafar High School for ward No-6, Dhanmondi Kamrunnesa Government High School for ward No-15, Meherunnesa Girls School and College (Kalabagan) for ward No-16, Dhanmondi No-1 Government Primary School (Kalabagan) for ward No-17, Khalil Sardar Community Centre (Hazaribagh) for ward No-22 and Nababganj Park Government Datobya Chikitsalay and Biamyagar (Lalbagh) for ward No-23.
Besides, the NID card will be given at Suritola Model Government Primary School (Kotwali Thana) for ward No-34, Hazi Mazharul Islam Government Primary School (Kotwali) for ward No-35, Razar Dewri Government Primary School (Kotwali) for ward No-36 and Bangla Government Girls High School (Bangla Bazar) for ward No-37.
