12 more public toilets in 3 mnths
Dhaka North City Co rporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq yesterday said 12 more modern public toilets will be built at several points across the capital within next three months, aiming to make the city a clean one.
The DNCC Mayor came up with the announcement while inaugurating a modern public toilet adjacent to Islamia Eye Hospital in the capitals Farmgate. HM Foundation, in association with Water Aid Bangladesh, constructed the public toilet under the supervision of the DNCC, raising the number of public toilets to nine in the capital. Earlier, two more public toilets -- one at Mohakhali and another inside Shyamoli Shishu Park -- were opened for public on Thursday
Bus driver arrested with yaba
A team Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) of Chittagong metro in a drive yesterday arrested a bus driver along with 5,000 contraband yaba tablets from Fringibazar area under Sadargaht police station in the city.
The arrestee was identified as Mozibar Rahmam, 45. He was carrying the yaba tablets by a Dhaka bound Shymoli Pariban bus from Coxs bazaar. The bus number is Dhaka metro Ba-11-6652 concealing the yaba inside the cassette player of the bus, said Ali Aslam, deputy director of DNC Chittagong.
Minor girl drowns in Sylhet
A minor girl drowned in a pond at Mitrimahal village in Goainghat upazila in Sylhet on Wednesday.
Locals said Mahia Begum, 2, daughter of Abdul Hamid of the village slipped into a pond and drowned while playing near its bank in the afternoon. Later, her body was found floating in the pond.

During this time 2016 JCI World Vice President Amzad Hussain, 2016 JCI Bangladesh Executive Vice President Ahmed Ashfaqur Rahman, 2016 JCI Bangladesh Vice President Ms. Rumana Chowdhury, 2016 JCI Bangladesh Director Maruful Islam Jhalak and members were present.
