Huge ‘jatka’ seized from BRTC bus

A team of fishery directorate on Wednesday evening seized 20 mounds jatka (Hilsa fry) from a BRTC bus at Saheed Abdur Rob Serniabad Bridge of the city. 

Bimal Chandra Das, district fishery officer (Hilsa), said acting of tip-off with the help of detective branch of Barisal Metropolitan Police “We raided the bus near the toll-plaza of Saheed Abdur Rob Serniabad Bridge at evening Wednesday. After searching the roof-top of the bus we found twenty mounds Jakta packed in baskets and covered with polythene sheets, he added. Later the seized Jatka were distributed among the religious educational institutions.
