The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court yesterday asked UK Bangla Limited chairman Ahmed Tajuddin to surrender before the lower court by Monday next, in a case filed over the Basic Bank loan scam, reports UNB.
A four-member bench of the Appellate Division, led by Chief Justice SK Sinha passed the order after hearing a petition filed by Ahmed Tajuddin in connection with a graft case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission.
ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam said the court asked the UK Bangla chairman to surrender before the Dhaka Special Judge’s Court by Monday.

The HC also asked the UK Bangla Limited chairman to submit Tk two crore to the bank concerned in two equal monthly installments.
Later, the ACC filed a petition to the Chamber Judge of the SC seeking a stay on the HC order.
