The first batch of 22 Laotian railway management personnel received high-speed rail training in Wuhan High-Speed Rail Training Centre in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei province recently.
On December 2, 2015, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Laotian section of the China-Laos international railway, which will connect Vientiane with Kunming. The railway is expected to be completed by 2020. The jointly built railway is of great significance for promoting regional connectivity, eliminating development gaps and achieving common prosperity. On the one hand, the railway will greatly promote Laos’ economic and social development, by improving local transport efficiency and capacity while creating a great many employment opportunities for Laotian people. On the other hand, the railway will also inject new vitality into the economy of southwest China.
In the training of Laotian railway management personnel, the Wuhan High-Speed Rail Training Centre has adopted various teaching approaches. These procedures include classroom teaching, on-site teaching and hands-on operation seminars. The training courses cover all the main HSR-related jobs, including courses in communications, electrical training, driving, mechanics and dispatching. The training session was designed to help Laotian trainees develop an objective and comprehensive understanding of China’s high-speed rail construction experience, achievements and cutting-edge technologies.
