The ruling Awami League yesterday distributed divisional responsibilities among its four joint general secretaries and eight organising secretaries.
The decision came at a joint meeting of Awami League Advisory Council and Central Working Committee. AL president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the meet at her official residence Ganabhaban.
The joint general secretaries have been appointed for two divisions each. Among the joint general secretaries, Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif was entrusted with the responsibilities for Chittagong and Sylhet, Dipu Moni for Dhaka and Mymensingh, Jahangir Kabir Nanak for Rangpur and Rajshahi, and Abdur Rahman was extrusted the duties for Barisal and Khulna.
The party also distributed divisional responsibilities among its eight organising secretaries. Among the organising secretaries, Ahmed Hossain got Sylhet, Misbah Uddin Siraj got Mymensingh, BM Mozammel Huq got Rangpur, AFM Bahauddin Nasim got Barisal, AKM Enamul Haque Shamim got Chittagong, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury got Rajshahi, Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Shopo got Khulna, and Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury got rersponsibilities for Dhaka.
Talking to The Independent, AL Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman said they will supervise the organisational tasks that will be done by the organising secretaries in a bid to strengthen the organisation from central to the grassroots.
