3-day Sachin Dev Burman Music Fest begins tomorrow

In memory of music maestro Sachin Dev Burman, cultural organisation Boinhishikha is organising a three day event titled Sachin Dev Burman Music Festival at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of the Central Public Library in the capitals Shahbagh.Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the festival tomorrow on the Public Library premises, while International Theatre Institute (ITI), Bangladesh president Nasir Uddin Yousuf, Bangladesh Gono Sangeet Samannay Parishad president Fakir Alamgir and Professor Shree Arijit Mitra, Nava Nalanda from India will be present as special guests. Golam Kuddus, convener of the festival organising committee, will preside over the opening ceremony.
After the inaugural ceremony, the artistes of Boinhishikha will render a chorus song, while Sajib Chowdhury, Mamun Zahid Khan, Tansen Rahman, Abida Rahman Setu and Dola Bandyopadhyay from Kolkata will perform solo songs.
The second day of the festival will feature solo music performances by Subir Nandi, Kiron Chandra Ray, Sujit Mustafa, Babu Rahman, Chandona Majumdar, Rupali Champak, Papiya, Rakesh Dev Burman, Tanuja Dev Burman and Suvrata Debnath. Besides, artistes of Spandan and Boinhishikha will perform group dances.
On the concluding day of the festival, on November 13, the festival will feature an evening of dance performances. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will inaugurate the dance evening as chief guest. After the inauguration, Soumitra dance group will perform Rabindranath Tagores Sahaj Path and Sukanta Bhattacharyas Runner. The artistes of Boinhishikha and Kalakshetra from India will also perform dance at the festival.
