Relations to consolidate further, they hope

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday congratulated United States President-elect Donald J Trump on his election victory, hoping that under his leadership the relationship between Dhaka and Washington will be further strengthened.

“On behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh, I extend my heartiest congratulations to you on your election as the 45th President of the United States of America. This speaks of your vision and leadership that your people have valued so much,” he said in a congratulatory message sent to Trump.
“Bangladesh firmly believes that under your able leadership, the existing friendly relations between our two countries would further strengthen in the days ahead. We would like to work closely with you in bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest,” added the President.
Echoing the President, Prime Minister in a separate congratulatory message, said, “Your victory in the US Presidential election is certainly a testimony to your extraordinary leadership quality to serving the American people and also the global humanity.”
“I am confident that under your leadership, the existing bilateral relations between our two friendly nations would be further strengthened. I look forward to working closely with you for advancing our bilateral and multilateral interests and contributing to create a safe and secure world, where our coming generations could live and continue to prosper peacefully,” she said.
