27 houses gutted in Ctg slum

A total of 27 houses were gutted at a slum in Anu Majhir Ghat area under Sadarghat police station in the city yesterday.
Fire Service sources said the fire originated from a kitchen of a shanty around 11am and soon engulfed the adjacent shanties On information, four vehicles of fire service rushed to the spot and doused the fire after an hour of frantic effort. The extent of loss caused by the fire could not be ascertained immediately. None was reported to have sustained injuries in the accident.
