Youth held over vandalising idols

Police arrested a young man allegedly for desecrating the idols of a Hindu temple at Paikpara village in Saturia upazila yesterday morning.

The arrestee was identified as Ridoy Hossain, 20, hailing from Comilla district.
Officer-in-charge of Saturia Police Station Habibullah Sarkar said a gang of criminals, including Ridoy, entered Laxmi Narayan temple at the house of Uttam Boiragi and vandalised three idols early yesterday. 
However, local people caught Ridoy while others managed to flee away. Later, local people handed him over to police, the OC added.
Uttam Boiragi filed a case with Saturia Police Station in this connection.
