Teacher couple hacked in Kushtia

Kushtia: A teacher couple was injured as a group of criminals hacked them at their house in Housing Area of the district town early yesterday, reports UNB.
The victims are Ali Isa, 52, an associate professor of Kushtia Govt College, and his wife Samsunnahar Khanam, 45, a lecturer of KSM College in Kushtia.
Superintendent of Police Proloy Chisim said a group of miscreants, numbering four to five, stormed into the house of the couple breaking open the door around 3:30am. Later, the hoodlums indiscriminately hacked Ali Isa and his wife with sharp weapons, leaving the duo injured.
However, the gang fled the scene as the neighbours rushed to the spot hearing the screams of the couple.
The injured were taken to Kushtia General Hospital.
The reason behind the attack could not be known, the SP said.
