University students body recovered in Sylhet
Police recovered the hanging body of a student of Sylhet International University from his room at Shamimabad area in the city Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Ashraful Islam Salim, 25, a BBA third year student of the university and son of Abdul Jalil, a resident of Ajompur village under Doarabazar upazila in Sunamganj district. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the hanging body from a ceiling fan of his room. Later, the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy, said Officer-in-charge of Sylhet Kotwali Model Thana Sohel Ahamed.
2 held with firearm, ammoin Gazipur
Police in a drive arrested two youths and recovered a foreign made pistol, three bullets and a magazine from Pagar Fakir Market area of Tongi in the city on Monday night.
The arrested were M Rasel, 25, in Tangail and M Dipu, 14, a resident of Narsingdi district. On a tip-off, a team of police from Tongi Thana conducted the drive in the area and arrested the duo with the firearm and bullets, police said. A case was filed in this connection.
National Mausoleum to be closed Dec 13-15
The National Mausoleum, Savar will remain closed for public from December 13-15 for cleaning works on the eve of Victory Day on December 16 next, a handout said in the capital yesterday.
It also said that hanging and pasting of all types posters, banners and festoons have completely ban from Aminbazar to the National Mausoleum during the period.
Shifting of IVAC Dhanmondi office
Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) is shifting its office from Road-2, House-24, Dhanmondi to Alamin Apon Heights 27/1/B (1st Floor) Shyamoli, Mirpur Road, Dhaka-1207 (Opposite of Shyamoli Cinema Hall).
The new Indian Visa Application Centre at Mirpur will open on November 13, 2016. Working hours will be from 8am to 6pm, says a press release
