One gets DU Novera Deepita Memorial Scholarship
A student of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) department of Dhaka University (DU) Janina Islam Abir got 'Novera Deepita Memorial Scholarship' of the university for securing the highest CGPA in BSS Honors Examination-2014.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique yesterday distributed the scholarship as the chief guest at a function, held at the VC's lounge on the campus here.
Chairman of DU MCJ department Professor Mofizur Rahman presided over the function while Professor Dr Abul Mansur Ahmed, Associate Professor Dr Naadir Junaid, Associate Professor Dr ASM Asaduzzaman and Novera Deepita's mother Adila Bakul addressed the function, among others. Mentioning, Novera was a meritorious student of DU's MCJ department as well as a progressive human being, the VC urged the students to groom themselves as a worthy citizen of the country following the ideals of Novera Deepita.

NU to publish master's admission merit list today
National University (NU) in Gazipur will publish the first subject-wise merit list of master's admission into first semester (regular) under academic session 2014-2015 today.
The Results could be known through mobile by sending SMS (NUATMF ROLL NO) to 16222 after 4 pm and the results also will be available in the university website www.nu.edu.bd/admissions or admissions.nu.edu.bd after 9.00 pm tomorrow, said a release yesterday.

Books on Tripitaka donated to DU library
Chairman of Pali and Buddhist Studies department of Dhaka University (DU) Prof Dr Biman Chandra Barua on Sunday handed over 127 books on Buddhist Literature and Tripitaka to Vice-Chancellor of the university AAMS Arefin Siddique at a function on the campus. The books, written in Bengali and collected from Rajban Bihar of Rangamati, were donated for central library of the university, said a press release. Acting Librarian Prof SM Jabed Ahmad, Prof Shukomol Barua and teachers of the department were present at the function, among others, the release said.

Teachers must have mentality of learning: JU VC
SAVAR: Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Professor Dr Farzana Islam yesterday said the teachers must have keenness of learning which make them live in the academic fields. 
"Training shows the way to the teachers for making their career in a special field while the teachers' willingness to learn make them more vibrant," she told the inaugural session of a training programme titled "Pedagogy and Metacognitive Tools and Techniques" on the campus here.  JU Teachers' Association (JUTA) organised the event in association with Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at the senate hall on the university.
Presided over by the President of JUTA also Director of JU IQAC Professor Dr Ajit Kumar Mazumder, JU Pro-VC Professor Dr Abu Hossain and Treasurer Professor Dr Abul Khair addressed the function as the special guests. Dhaka University (DU) Professors Dr SM Hafizur Rahman and Dr Mahbub Ahsan Khan presented the key notes paper.

Project Fair begins at IU
KUSHTIA:  A two-day Project Fair of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia began on Wednesday.
 Applied Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of the university is organizing the fair. IU VC Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest around 10 am at the faculty of Applied Science and Technology.
