Harunur Rashid, sub-inspector of Shahparan Police Station, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s (CMM’s) court. The court fixed November 15 for hearing on the charge sheet. Earlier on October 5, Badrul Alam confessed to his crime before a Sylhet court. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Umme Sharban Tahura recorded Badrul’s statement under section 164.
AC (prosecution) of the court Touhudil Islam said, “Badrul confessed that he had stabbed Khadija.” On October 3, Khadiza, a 2nd year Degree student of Sylhet Govt Women’s College, was hacked by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit BCL leader Badrul Alam on her way home from MC College following the refusal of his proposal for having an affair with him.
