All-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad missed to lift the BPL title because of Mashrafe’s charismatic leadership last year but this time he leads Khulna Titans, is hopeful to play better cricket. Khulna is set to start their campaign today in the first math against Rajshahi Kings at 2pm.
Riyad, who last year played for Barisal Bulls following Chittagongs’s charge, believes that the better result is possible if they could perform as team and showcase their all-round performance.
“I don’t feel any comfort. It’s a good challenge. We have no big names like the other teams. But the performance is the biggest thing at the end. If we could do well as a team and show off our all-round performance then we hope there will have a possibility to fare well,” said Mahmudullah, who is the fifth highest scorer in BPL with 692 off 37 matches.
“We’ve target to be champions. It’s such a format, where performing consistently is really difficult. You will lose or win but we have to be remained stiff. We should play focusing the weakness and strongest side of the team then it will benefit us in the long run,” Riyad told media after their practice session. Khulna formed a well-balanced team, which inspires Mahmudullah to guide them in right direction by playing a better brand of cricket.
“I don’t see any weakness at the moment. We will face off it on way to moving forward to the tournament. I think the team seems to be quite balanced,” the right-handed batsman, who played so far 113 T20s including 53 for Bangladesh after his international debut in 2007, said.
