‘Robber’ injured in ‘gunfight’

An alleged robber was injured in a reported gunfight with police and his cohorts on Dhaka-Nawabganj road in Rashulpur area early yesterday, reports UNB.

The injured were identified as Md Mainuddin, 25. Md Ferdous Hossain, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Model Police Station, said on secret information that a gang was taking preparation to commit robbery, a team of police conducted a drive in the area around 2am.
Sensing the presence of police, the gang opened fire at them, prompting a retaliation that triggered a gunfight.
