Teachers of Rajshahi University (RU) formed a human chain on the campus yesterday protesting recent attack on Hindus at Nasirnagar in Brahmanbaria district.

They also demanded that the government to take effective steps to try the perpetrators and ensure the minorities' security.   Pro-Awami teachers’ organisation Progressive Teachers Society (PTS) formed the human chain in front of senate building on Rajshhai University (RU) campus yesterday.
Noted litterateur Prof Hasan Azizul Haque in the programme said repeated attack on minority communities cannot be accepted when secular government is in power.
He said, “Our country is heading forward with a secular government. So we demand proper trial of all sectarian attacks on minority people, including attack on Hindus in Brahmanbaria district in recently”. Acting convener of PTS Dr Zulfiqar Ali urged the government to take effective steps for protection and stern action against perpetrators of sectarian violence across the country.
He said a vested group has long been trying to ruin our religious harmony in the country.
