UNB

Libyan law enforcement agencies have rescued 65 Bangladesh nationals from a traffickers’ den in a remote area of Libyan capital Tripoli, UNB reports. Libyan police also arrested four Bangladeshi human traffickers for their alleged involvement in trafficking and confining those 65 jobseekers and realising hefty money from victims’ families. The traffickers were identified as Rana Bhattacharya, M Waliur Rahman, Suman Shariff and Hafizul Sheikh. “These four persons are now under trial as per the Libyan domestic laws,” Bangladesh Embassy in Libya said in a Facebook post. The traffickers brought the workers with a promise of giving them lucrative jobs in some Libyan companies and then confined them to a den to realize the ransoms.
