Two plays to be staged to raise funds for cancer patient

Theatre troupe Natukay is going to stage two of its comedy plays today at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capita’s Segun Bagicha Area. Theatre Troup Natukay is teaming up with its branch organisation, Theatre Can Fund to raise a fund for a mother of two offspring named Khodeza Begum, who is suffering from cancer in Kurigram district. Natukay will bring the play ‘Thakur Ghore Ke Re’ on the stage at 6pm today. Directed and translated by Al-Nomaan, ‘Thakur Ghore Ke Re’ is a play adapting from a French play ‘Don’t Dress for Dinner’ originally written by Marc Camoletti. The story of the play revolves around Samuel, who plans to send his wife named Jacqueline to her mother’s so that he can romance with his mistress Suzanne on her birthday. Samuel hires a Cordon Bleu cook, Suzette, and as an alibi invited his friend Patrick to dinner. The story moves forward from here. The cast of the play includes Al-Nomaan, Moni, Sony Shyamal, Rinku and Mahbub. On the other hand, Natukay’s comedy play ‘Biye Birambana,’ adapted from French playwright Molière’s ‘Le marriage force’ by Ashim Das, will be staged at 7:15pm today.  ‘Biye Birambana’ is a farcical tale of hassle surrounding a delayed marriage. The play revolves around a wealthy man who is early fifties. He decides to marry an attractive young woman following a friend’s suggestion. But later he loses interest in the wedding as he sees the woman going on  shopping sprees and spends large sums of his money.
