Man to die for killing wife

MEHERPUR: A court yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife at Bashbaria village under Gangni upazila in 2014, reports BSS.Judge of Woman and Child Repression Control Tribunal M Rabiul Hasan pronounced the verdict.
The convict is Masud Rana alias Engil, 45, resident of the same area.According to the prosecution, Masud killed his wife Salina Khatun on May 30, 2014 over a family feud. He used to torture Salina for dowry. The victim’s mother Kohinur Begum filed a murder case with Gangni Police Station the following day.Police, after investigation, submitted chargesheet before the court against Masud. Later, the judge examining 12 witnesses and evidences announced the judgment.
