Illegal structures on both sides of Dhaka-Tangail highway are being demolished for smooth movement of transports before and after the coming Eid-ul-Fitr.
Mobile courts began conducting drives for demolishing illegal structures and checking licences of vehicles yesterday.
A mobile court, led by executive magistrate Md Asaduzzaman, demolished some makeshift shops set up by the side of Dhaka-Tangail highway. He examined the licences and fitness of auto-rickshaws, Nasimon, Karimon, buses, trucks and pickups on the highway. Asaduzzaman said cases have been lodged against 18 vehicles and fine amounting to Tk 20,500 realised.
