Rashida Khanam, wife of President Abdul Hamid, has asked students to equip themselves with creative knowledge to serve the nation rising above all narrowness and prejudice, reports BSS.
"It should be your pledge to enrich yourselves with knowledge and work for the welfare of the country with your freethinking and merits," she said while speaking at a fresherers' reception and opening ceremony of the annual exhibition of Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) in the capital yesterday. She said SMUCT has already occupied a special place in the arena of higher education as it gives emphasis on creative education along with the traditional education that helps build the young generation as creative and good citizens.
"I believe that after the graduation the students of this university would be able to brighten Bangladesh image by carrying out their responsibility at home and abroad with reputation," said Rashida Khanam.
She said Bangladesh is going ahead under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The government has launched the vision 2021 and 2041 to turn Bangladesh into a prosperous country, she said, and urged the student community to come forward in establishing an exploitation-free happy and well-off country as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
