Police have identified the arms users of the factional clash of Juba League activists in Chittagong on Tuesday and arrested one with sharp weapons yesterday. The arrestee was identified as Jalal Uddin. The youth in the picture, holding a pistol and wearing helmet and a T-shirt, published in local and national dailies was identified as Faisal Ahmed Raj, a resident of Uttar Agrabad of Double Mooring area, said police. He is a follower of Juba League leader Saiful Alam Lemon, said sources.
The youth seen with sharp weapon and wearing a red shirt was identified as Sumon, said police. He is also known as a follower of Lemon, said local sources.
“We have identified the youths who used arms. We have formed teams to nab them. Our drive is continuing to arrest them, said Boshir Uddin, Officer In-charge of Double Mooring Police Station.Equipped with firearms and sharp weapons, two groups of Juba League activists locked in a clash on Tuesday at CGS Colony in Agrabad over establishing supremacy. One group was the followers of local ward councilor H M Sohel while the other were supporters of city Juba League leader Saiful Alam Lemon, A Juba League activist named Jamshed was injured seriously during the clash and admitted to Chittagong Medical College. Juba League leader Saiful Alam Lemon and local ward councilor HM Sohel both are known as follower of city mayor AJM Nasir Uddin.
