Khulna seek to play stress free cricket, says Law

Khulna Titans seek to play stress free cricket and enjoy the game as much as possible. They will shift their focus on one by one game and evolve through the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on the basis of this approach.

Khulna did not play the last edition. But this time they play under the new ownership, who formed a competitive side with the combination of local and foreign quality players.
The team purchased West Indies all-rounders Nicholas Pooran, Kevon Cooper, Lendl Simmon, Andre Fletcher, English all-rounders  Riki Wessels, Benny Howell , Pakistani Mohammad Asghar, Junaid Khan and Australian Ben Laughlin from players draft and out of the draft.
They bolstered their side with all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad, spin all-rounder Mosharraf Hossain Rubel, pacer Shafiul Islam, all-rounder Shuvagata Hom, batsmen Ariful Haque, Abdul Majid, Alok Kapali, Mohammad Hasanuzzaman, Nayeem Islam Jr, Nur Hossain Saddam, Taibur Rahman Parvez and Adbul Halim.
 They are hopeful of doing better result by these players in the T20 tournament. The team hired Bangladesh former national coach Stuart Law. Imdadul Bashar Ripon will assist him in their BPL mission.
Australia-born Stuart Law said that they have some future star players in the side are keen to perform well.
“We have no superstars but we have some future superstars in the team. We want to start the tournament very well of course. We spent a week and half together. Boys did their practice very good,” said Stuart Law.
“We want to play good brand of cricket, aggressive and positive cricket. People will get to see us to play some attacking cricket also,” Law said after the end of the pre-match day practice session.
Khulna started their primary practice some few days ago. They played practice match against opening rival Rangpur Riders on ULAB campus ground before going into the final clash.
In this regard, the head coach said that they took their primary idea about their opening day’s rival throughout the practice match.  
“We played other day a practice match. We have seen them played very classy and used to play in this condition. We understand they are very good cricket team. But we are also prepared. We understand their bad and errors. We are looking to start the BPL on special,” he said.
Praising Mahmudullah Riyad, Shuvagata Hom and Shafiul Islam, Law said that both local and foreign collection are fantastic and want to go further by them.
“One think we having common is very good grass-root in T20 cricket because there are experienced T20 players. Young local players are also good like Riyad, Shuvagata Hom, Shafiul Islam played well T20 cricket. We got some good experienced and energetic guys and some real classy players. We are looking forward to the tournament,” the coach said.
