Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif on Wednesday said the government a process was underway to introduce time-befitting land management system in the country with a particular aim to eliminate corruption involving land, reports BSS.
"We have taken initiatives for modernisation to eliminate corruption and ambiguity in land management," he said speaking at a function at land ministry meeting room in the capital.
The function was organized coinciding with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Land Reform Board and A2I project over the automation of the offices of assistant commissions (AC- land), said an official release.
The minister said the MoU was signed to remove the sufferings of the common people regarding ownership of land. "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken an epoch-making step to resolve land related complications in the country," he said. Terming signing of the MoU a historic initiative, he said the government has taken the move to make land management easy, he added.
