Turkey will provide more scholarships for the Bangladeshi students to the internationally recognised Turkish universities aimed at further enhancing engagements in education sector between the two countries, reports BSS.
“Ankara has agreed to enhance Turkish scholarships for the Bangladeshi students,” said Turkish Minister of National Education Ismet Yilmaz when Bangladesh Ambassador in Ankara M. Allama Siddiki met him at his office on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Turkish education minister showed interest to materialise the idea of holding an education fair in Dhaka to attract more Bangladeshi students to the internationally recognised Turkish universities at a considerably lower cost. They also discussed various issues of bilateral interest with special focus on enhancing cooperation in education sector between the two countries, according to a message received in Dhaka yesterday.
Dubbing Bangladesh as a rising economic power in Asia, the minister lauded the steady economic growth of Bangladesh when he recalled the warm and traditional friendship between Bangladesh and Turkey. Yilmaz expressed the hope that the cooperation between the two countries would further intensify in all areas particularly in the field of higher education in the days to come.
