President Abdul Hamid yesterday urged the authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) to play a leading role in ensuring a patient-friendly atmosphere in the country’s all hospitals, reports UNB.
Abdul Hamid also advised the BSMMU authorities to expedite research activities apart from ensuring quality treatment to patients.
He made the call when an 11-member delegation, led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) vice-chancellor Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan, submitted the university’s annual report at Bangabhaban.
During the meeting, the President asked the delegation to make it sure that the nurses and technicians of the university maintain patient-friendly behaviour.
President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
The delegation apprised President Hamid of various aspects of the report and future development programmes of the university.
They informed the president that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has introduced Master’s degree course on nursing and sought the President’s cooperating in resolving the residential problem of doctors and nurses. Secretaries concerned to the President were present.
