Police headquarters yesterday asked not to post any religious provocative statement in social media especially in facebook.
In a press release issued by the Police Headquarters, the police said that if any individual or groups post any provocative religious post which hurts the religious sentiment of the common people, then tough measures will be taken by the law enforcement personnel.
The release referred the recent incident of Nasirnagar in Brahmanbaria where households and temple of Hindus were vandalised by angry mob based on a facebook post of an individual. The role of police regarding that incident was questioned as many alleged that police didn’t take due action while the mob started vandalising the temple and Hindu household.
The Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, however, said that he didn’t see any lacking in police duty.
