Three cases were filed yesterday over Tuesday’s factional clash of Juba League activists in Chittagong over establishing supremacy. Thirty people were named while 40 unknown people were also made accused in the cases.
However, police could not arrest anyone till filing the report around 9pm yesterday.Equipped with arms, two groups of Juba League, one is follower of local ward councilor H M Sohel and other is follower of city Juba League leader Saiful Alam Lemon locked into a clash on Tuesday at CGS Colony at Agrabad over establishing supremacy.Over the clash, a Juba League activist named Jamshed was injured seriously and admitted to Chittagong Medical College.Juba League leader Saiful Alam Lemon and local ward councilor HM Sohel both are known as follower of city mayor AJM Nasir Uddin.Decorated with arms, a group of Juba League activists led by Jahangir, a follower of Lemon, went to CGS Colony. The rival group led by Suman, follower of Sohel, carried an attack on the Lemon group and chase and counter chases ensued. During the clash blank shots were fired and some tin-shed houses were vandalised.One Morium Akhter Mukta filed a case yesterday (Wednesday) for vandalising her tin-shed house, said police.Rahima Khatun, mother of Jamshed who was injured during the clash filed another case naming 10 people for indiscriminately hacking her son.Advocate Shahnaz Siddique lodged the third case naming 11 people for hacking her brother.
