Five graft suspects held

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested five graft suspects, including a UP chairman and two members, on various graft allegations.
ACC deputy assistant director of its Rajshahi office Abu Bakar Siddique arrested chairman of Mimpara union parishad (Charghat upzaila) Abdul Kuddus Polash from Rajshahi sadar, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the UNB.
On September 9, 2016, the ACC filed a case against him with Charghat Police Station for allegedly misappropriating about Tk 5 lakh from a local government project.
ACC assistant director Masudur Rahman arrested union parishad members Azim Uddin and Amirul Islam of Bhaluka and dealer Kamrul Islam of the same upzila.
