Major General Abul Hossain, Military Secretary to President Md Abdul Hamid, has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). He will replace Major General Aziz Ahmed as the DG of the paramilitary force.
The public administration ministry issued a circular in this regard yesterday.
Meanwhile, the outgoing DG of the BGB Major General Aziz Ahmed has been promoted to the post of Lieutenant General of Bangladesh Army and he will be posted as the general officer commanding (GOC) of the Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC).
Major General Hossain joined Bangladesh Army in 1980 and was commissioned on December 27, 1981.
He obtained B.Sc in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET).
Besides serving different engineering battalions, he was also the commandant of the Military Institute of Science & Technology (MIST).
