2 ‘abductors’ killed by mob
Bandarban: Two alleged abductors were killed in a lynch-mob attack in Eidgachhara Reserved Forest area of Lama upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Officer-in-charge of Lama Police Station Iqbal Hossain said a gang of abductors intercepted an autorickshaw in Fakirakhola area around 12.30am and picked up four people - Jaber Ahmmad, Mohammad Jahir, Mamun Alam and Kalu Miah. Sensing the incident, local people chased them off. 
At one stage, they caught two of the gang members and gave them a good thrashing, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

A housewife sustained burn injuries as her husband threw acid in her face over a family feud at Amdala Gatipara village in Sharsha upazila early yesterday.
The injured was identified as Sabina Khatun, 28, wife of Dipu Hossain Ripon, 42, a resident of Dhannokhola village in the upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station Maniruzzaman said Sabina and Ripon were separated from each other two months back over a family feud.
Since then, Sabina was staying at her father’s house at Amdala Gatipara village. Later, Ripon tried to restore the relationship several times but Sabina denied.
He sneaked into the house of Sabina’s father and threw acid in her face while she was sleeping around 2am, leaving her injured.

4 held with firearms, yaba

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four people along with firearms, phensidyl syrup and 7895 pieces of yaba tablets from Barobazar area in Kaliganj upazila early yesterday.
The arrestee are Sohel, Sohel Rana, Kanak of Barobazar village of Kaliganj upazila and Jamal Uddin of Satkhira.
Major Manir Ahmed, commander of RAB-6, said tipped off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid at a business institution in the area and arrested the four people at about 5.00am. The RAB members also recovered four pipe guns, one revolver and the aforesaid Indian phensidyl and yaba from the spot.
