Rajshahi Kings like all the other franchisee are busy to take their last moment preparation as Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is knocking at the door.

Rajshahi Kings will face-off defending champions Comilla Victorians in the curtain raiser of the BPL-4 on Friday.
They held their first practice session with the participation of the bulk of the local players. Of course, the team had started their primary practice at BKSP with the available players. Before leaving BKSP, Kings played a practice match against Dhaka Dynamites on November 1.
After the end of the England series, their four players including T20 specialist Sabbir Rahman Rumman, new find spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraj, Mominul Haque and Nurul Hasan Sohan, who all performed their national duties, joined with the other players of the team and did their intense practice. In fact Mehedi is going to make his BPL debut with this edition.
English all-rounder Samit Patel and fast-bowler Kesrick Williams among the foreign players attended the full squad practice at the National Cricket Academy.
Sajjad Ahmed Shipon, advisor of Rajshahi Kings, said that three players among the foreign players are expected to arrive today and tomorrow. Of them, West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy, who will captain Rajshahi Kings in BPL and Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal are scheduled to reach in Dhaka today. Pakistan pacer Mohammad Sami on the other hand will join the team tomorrow.
The rest of the overseas players including Sri Lankan all-rounder Milinda Siriwardana and batsman Upul Tharanga will come here in the middle of the tournament.
Under the new ownership, Rajshahi Kings, who formed an equally balanced team with the other franchisees, roped in coach Sarwar Imran. They set their primary target to place them in the best four.
“We want to see us in the best four. If we could reach there then we will think to place in the final. For this we have started our practice. Gradually we are getting our squad players,” said Sarwar Imran in this regard.
“Now we are trying to develop our batting-bowling-fielding. Hopefully if we could play a team game then we could present better performance,” Imran told The Independent.
“Our team has been formed with the young players. We have a better team spirit, which is the main thing in T20. I think we could do offer our hundred percent for the team’s success. The rest things will depend on in-field performance,” said wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan.
“We have Darren Sammy, Umar Akmal, Samit Patel, Upul Tharanga and Mohammad Sami that made the team balance. Inshallah, it would be possible to do better result,” Sohan said after their practice session.
When asked about Mehedi Hasan Miraj, who entered into record book scalping 19 wickets in two-match Test series on debut, Sohan said that they will help him so that he could perform better for Kings.
“Miraj would be an inspiration for the whole team. Actually we all try to perform together in the field and bring success for the team. We try to give him support so that he could do perform better for us also,” this wicketkeeper-batsman told in a question.
