One gets life term for trading drug in Pirojpur

PIROJPU: A court here yesterday sentenced a man to suffer life imprisonment for trading drugs in Swarupkathi upazila of the district in 2012, reports BSS.The court also fined him Taka 20,000, in default, to suffer six months more in jail. District and Session Judge M Golam Kibria pronounced the judgment.According to the court officials, the convict is Swapon Dutta alias Safa, 35, a resident of Mulgram village in Sadar upazila. The prosecution story, in brief, is that Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-8 arrested Safa with huge phensidyl from Lakhankathi area of Swarupkathi upazila on November 21, 2012.
