A newly married woman was slaughtered allegedly by her husband and in-laws at Jangalbandhal village in Sadar upazila on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mamtaz Begum, 20, wife of Sujan of the village.Sub-inspector Jafor Ahmmed, in-charge of Basundia
police camp, said Mamtaz, daughter of Abdul Majid, a resident of Tarabari village in Chowgachha upazila, was married to Sujan, son of Tokai Milon of the village seven days ago.
Locals spotted her slaughtered body in the house around 7pm and informed police.Police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital.
Later, the law enforcers arrested Sujan from Nowapara area of Abhoynagar upazila at night.During primary interrogation, he confessed to killing his wife.
Ilias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kotowali Police Station said, a murder case was filed in this connection.
