4 BCL leaders held in Chandpur

Several hours before the start of the union parishad (UP) election, police arrested four local leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) along with eight lethal weapons from Alonia village in Faridganj upazila on Sunday night.
The arrestees were identified as Faridganj municipality unit BCL’s vice president Mahbub Hossain, general secretary Jahirul Islam, upazila unit BCL’s publicity and publication affairs secretary Robiul Hossain and Faridganj Bangabandhu Degree College unit BCL’s general secretary Mohaimin Sarwar.Md Ashrafuzzaman, additional superintendent of Chandpur police said police arrested them along with the arms and some ‘chocolate bombs’ from the area at night on charge of planning for sabotage in the UP election.A case was filed in this connection.
