Man held for attempting to violate minor in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: Police arrested a man on charge of attempting to rape a four-year-old girl in Sosthitola area of the city on Sunday evening, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Jahid, 40, construction worker and son of Ismail, a resident of Sadipur village in Charghat upazila of the district.
Shahdat Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalia Police Station in the city, said Jahid took the girl inside an under construction building in the city in the afternoon as the girl was playing nearby, and tried to violate the girl.
The girl informed the incident to her family members after returning home on the day.
Later, locals caught Jahid and handed him over to police, added Shahdat Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station.
