Foundation training on journos held
OUR CORRESPONDENT, CHUADANGA

A three-day foundation training on journalism for electronic media journalists was concluded at circuit house in the district town yesterday.
Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) organised the training and about 35 local journalists participated in the course.
On the occasion, a concluding ceremony was also held and it was presided over by the president of Chuadanga Press Club Azad Malitha while Deputy Commissioner Saima Younus was present as chief guest. It was addressed, among others, by Mayor of Chuadanga pourasabha Obaibur Rahman Chowdhury, assistant trainer of PIB Nasimul Ahsan, president of Chuadanga Sangbadik Samity Mahtab Uddin and general secretary of Chuadanga Press Club Faizar Chowdhury.
 Later, Deputy Commissioner Saima Younus distributed certificates among the participants.  

Youth jailed for eve-teasing

A mobile court here yesterday sentenced a youth to three months imprisonment on charge of teasing a schoolgirl at Gayespur village of Sadar upazila.
Executive magistrate of Sadar upazila Osman Gani awarded the sentence to Rasel, resident of the same area.
ASI Ejajul Haque of Sadar Thana said Rasel regularly eve-teased the girl, who is a class five student of a local school, on her way to school. Being informed, the mobile team rushed to the spot and arrested Rasel and produced him before the court. Later, the court sentenced him to three months’ of imprisonment and sent him to jail.

2 youths held with firearms
Chittagong: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two young men along with firearms and bullets from Starline Filling Station in Feni Sadar upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as M Nazimuddin Shakil, 26, and Abdur Rashid, 28.
Being tipped off that the two young men were staying at the filling station with firearms, a team of the elite force conducted a drive there and arrested the duo, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Chandan Debnath, media officer of Rab-7. During the drive, Rab members recovered two foreign pistols, two one-shooter guns and six rounds of bullets, Chandan added.
Fake doctor jailed in Jessore
Benapole: A mobile court convicted a fake doctor and sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment at Basundia in Sadar upazila on Saturday night, reports UNB.
The convict was identified as Khalilur Rahman, son of late Abdul Khaleq, a resident of Chenguatia village in Abhaynagar upazila.
Sub-inspector Nahian of Jessore Kotwali Police Station said Khalilur, identifying himself as an expert, had been carrying out surgeries at a private clinic at Basundia.
On secret information that Khalilur was conducting a surgery on a pregnant woman at the night, a team of police conducted a raid at the clinic around 10pm and arrested the fake doctor.
