RAJSHAHI: Smart bus network has been launched in Rajshahi city for the talented women together with imparting them with ICT training, reports BSS.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, and State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak, MP, launched the bus network on the premises of Shaheed Quamaruzzaman Divisional Stadium on Saturday afternoon as chief and special guests respectively.
Built with modern technologies the bus has sound proof arrangements. It has also all sorts of necessary ICT instruments and training apparatus as like as to a training classroom. In a bus network all the workstations, servers and printers are joined to one cable (the bus). At each end of the cable a terminator is fitted to stop signals reflecting back down the bus.
Speaking on the occasion Shahriar Alam said that every upazila of the country had been brought under optical fibre connection and 3G network, while bandwidth price reduced to Tk625 from Tk76,000 in 2007.
“Steps have also been taken to introduce 4G network in 2017, he said adding that 130 million mobile SIM are being used while 640 million people are now using internet in Bangladesh,” he said.
He mentioned that rural people were receiving about 200 types of services from digital centres across the country. Apart from this, he said, about 3,000 post offices had been transformed into digital service centres.
